Yesterday

Yesterday would have been my mothers 64th Birthday. It has been a very interesting past few months since she passed away, and it still breaks my heart to know I'll never have the chance to hear her voice again in this life. Here is a sheet of flash I painted in her memory shortly after returning to Massachusetts after her services.

Never take those that love you for granted. You never know when it might be the last time you look into their eyes, hear their voice, or feel their touch. And never forget to let them know how much they mean to you, it only takes a minute out of your day and could potentially make theirs!

How the time flies

It's always a bit crazy to me how quickly time seems to fly by us when we are distracted with life. It has been well over a year since I have made a real post on here, and a lot has happened since I last gave you all a glimpse into the life of Gordo. In October of 2012 I made one of the biggest decisions I have ever had to make, by moving cross country from Arizona to Massachusetts. And even though I have traveled extensively through out the U.S. this would be the first time I would not be returning to my beautiful Arizona. I definitely miss my wide open spaces and my sunny Arizona skies, but I have been enjoying this much needed change of scenery. Being away from everything I've ever known and everyone I'm close to (except for my beautiful girlfriend), has really helped me to be able to see what I truly value in life and to appreciate the blessings and opportunities that have been presented to me along my journey. Leaving Classic Tattoo was a very hard decision for me to make, Shane Jay has been one of the most influential people I have ever worked with. I grew so much as an artist and a person working at Classic, and I have used the lessons I learned under Shane during this life transition and at my new shop Darkstar Tattoo in Westport, MA. I have now been at Darkstar for almost a year and a half, and I couldn't
ask for a better group of guys to work with! I feel very fortunate to have been able to join the crew here, and to have been welcomed so warmly by everyone here in the South Coast. This year I am going to try and step outside of my comfort zone a little more and start giving you guys a more personal look into my life. In the past I have tried to keep my online presence more on the professional side and have left out much, if not all of my personal life. I feel like I have missed out on a lot by not sharing myself with the people that take interest in my art and the tattoos I create. So from here on out, I am going to include more of my adventures, triumphs, failures, lessons learned, and tons of random thoughts and opinions. I really look forward to building a stronger relationship with my clients and the fans of my work that take the time out of their lives to see what I have been doing in mine. Thank you all for the amazing support and creativity you all inspire in me, I wouldn't be able to do what I do without all of you. To close this post out I'm going to throw up some of the tattoos I've done this past year that I'm really proud of, Enjoy!
This was his first tattoo and we finished it up in two sittings!

I did this one on my fellow tattooer Cory Dufault, I feel honored to have been able to put this next to some work done by some incredible tattooers!

The Mighty Winged Panthercorn
I originally saw this as a line drawing on a sheet of Spaulding & Rogers Flash
from the 80's and I couldn't wait to do a version of it!

This is Corey and his grumpy cowboy, such on uncanny resemblance!
If you're in the market for a fancy new piercing this is the guy to come and see, and I swear he's not as grumpy as he looks here!

Did this Lady Liberty on our buddy Nick before he embarked on
a his cross country exodus to the City of Angels

A very fun Walk-in I got to do off my wall of flash!

This Sugar Skull was off of the last sheet of flash I painted in 2013, and we knocked it out
in one session!

This was the second time I did this Sailor Jerry design, and it was done as a tribute piece for his Father that got the same design a few months earlier right before he passed away.

Much bigger things to come!

I've been working on some larger projects lately so figured I would throw up some in progress pics for you all to gander at!

This first one is a big cover up, can't wait to start getting some color in this one!

Here is the before picture of what he had before I got to work on him.

This next one is the start to a sleeve. I've wanted to tattoo this tiger for a long time, I did a painting of it as a baby back piece last year and it finally made it onto skin!

This next one is another large cover up and the start to a full leg piece, the next session will be a Hanya and snake combo that we are going to blast on his knee!

Here is another tiger half sleeve that I rocked out in one session on a client who just got back from serving our country in Afghanistan, he sat like a champ!

As always if you want to get tattooed by me I can be reached at Classic Tattoo in Chandler, AZ! I would also like to thank all my clients and friends for your trust and support, with out you guys none of this would be possible!

Stoney Knows How!

This rose was referenced from a sheet of flash originally done by Stoney St. Clair, probably from the 60's or earlier.
